Rule Lab
Every rule in the field guide changes who pays, how often, and how much. Set the rules yourself and run a week of simulated bidding on them. No real money is involved anywhere in this — the bidders are made up, and so is their patience.

The rules these settings come from
- Single highest bid 412 One bid holds the position. A higher bid replaces it outright; the old bid is spent.
- Cumulative bid 68 Payments stack on one listing. Bidders top up an existing total instead of replacing it.
- Pay the difference 33 The next holder pays a set increment above the current bid rather than an open amount.
- Daily reset 8 The board clears on a fixed daily boundary. Yesterday’s spend buys nothing today.
- Weekly season 11 Ranking runs in seasons. Standings close and restart on a weekly or monthly cycle.
- Decay 21 A position loses value as time passes, so holding rank costs money continuously.
- Map takeover 12 Places on a map are held until someone pays the takeover price for that place.
- Pixel ownership 23 A fixed canvas is sold by area. What you buy is space on the page, not a rank number.
- Refundable outbid 5 Being outbid returns some or all of the previous payment to its holder.
- Charity bid 1 Bids are routed to a cause rather than kept as revenue by the board.
- Community click 23 Free actions — votes, clicks, referrals — move rank alongside or instead of money.
The simulation is a toy. Bidder patience, arrival rates and willingness to pay are assumptions, not measurements — the point is to feel what a rule does, not to forecast a board.
