Outbid Lol’s domain was registered on 19 Aug 2026. The idea it shipped was not new — GoTo.com was ranking search results by bid in 1998 — but the execution was minimal enough to be understood in one screenshot and rebuilt in an afternoon. That combination is what makes a wave.
Within 48 hours, 265 more domains on file had been registered. Within a week, 474. The census now holds 533 boards, of which 15 run on domains that predate outbid.lol entirely — a domain’s age alone does not tell us when it adopted this format.
Reported totals and market concentration
307 boards publish a figure. Together they report $1,664,561. outbid.lol alone accounts for 16% of it. The median board reports $17, and 78.8% of reporting sites currently show less than $100.

None of that is audited. It is what each board prints on its own page, and a board that inflates its counter is reported here at its inflated figure. Why this site never calls it revenue.
How bidding models differ
Sites in the database use several approaches to selling positions:
- Highest-bid leaderboards order listings by individual bids.
- Daily resets restart the ranking each day; decay reduces a position’s value over time.
- Map takeovers let bidders claim individual regions or locations.
These records show how the rules work. They do not measure the traffic or advertising results each model delivers.
What the archive preserves
65 sites are offline, parked or no longer host a leaderboard. Another 69 have an uncertain status, such as an error or redirect. These categories describe the latest check, not a prediction of permanent closure.
